I watched a Youtube video about the Falcon Heavy launch after I finished my morning workout. Not gonna lie – afterwards, I felt quite inspired to really tackle the day with confidence and curiosity. It had been a while since I last felt that way. I would say most of my mornings since like the last 2 years have felt quite boring because I wasn’t giving myself something be excited about. I was just waking up and living life almost meaninglessly.
What inspires you? What makes you excited about the future?
Elon musk
So that really got me thinking – how can I make my day more exciting? I know I things that I am passionate about. What’s something I can look forward too? So I journaled what gets me excited to go get up and do something. Here’s what I wrote down:
- Volleyball – I love to play volleyball. Whether it’s pick up or a competition, as long as the play level is decent, I’m pumped to play. I notice that I get really excited the day before a competition.
- Rock climbing – same thing with volleyball. My mind is completely absorbed into the climb and the joy of solving the beta with friends is great.
- Fast paced card games & puzzles – any game that’s fast paced gets me pumped. It’s exciting because of the adrenalin rush. I also really enjoy solving puzzles.
- Teaching/tutoring math – being able to serve people with my skills just feels good. It’s exciting to see and help people overcome their struggles with this subject.
- Telling a good story – that’s sort of what this blog is about. Telling stories that pertain to being more confident, curios, and excited about life.
Hard work!
Elon Musk said that technology just doesn’t automatically improve; it takes a lot of people working very hard to make it better. And it sorta just clicked in me that the same can be said for what I wrote down. It takes a lot of hard work to get better at volleyball, rock climbing, and telling a good story. When you get better at something, that opens up more opportunities to experience different arenas in life. For example, it could be playing in more competitive volleyball competitions or potentially making this blog a platform to teach and connect with others.
I hope this will serve as an encouragement for you! I believe being excited about the future or even each day makes life feel more fulfilling. If you are struggling to be excited about something, you’re not alone.
